Exploring Meditation

Why should I explore meditation?

If the idea of being happier, healthier and performing better in life appeals to you, then meditation is a tool that you might want to explore and consider adding to your regular regime.

What is meditation?

At a basic level, meditation is a practice wherein you enter a state of being where you quiet your mind and allow your focus to drift inward as thoughts dissipate, your awareness expands and you connect with your physical body, sensations and ultimately your higher self. There are many forms of meditation and the meditative state can be achieved through various means and in that state there are numerous therapeutic, entertaining and exploratory benefits to pursue.

Is mediation right for you?

I think it is safe to say, that we all find our own ways, to do our best, to manage the ups and downs that life delivers us daily. We all want to; be the best we can be, strive to be happy, have great relationships and move forward in our goals and overall performance. So given that meditation is accessible, free, proven, powerful, and can be practiced by anyone, anywhere, anytime, well, to me that's something I want to explore.

Consider that anything you have ever learned in life and became good at came through practice and repetition. Learning to walk, tie your shoes, read, write, do math or any sport all required practice and repetition as you wired your brain and body to learn and enhance that skill.

Now consider that many of us were never exposed to the science or tools that can help to actually train your brain to think and feel differently. And certainly, most of us received no training in that area in school or as adults. Now imagine being shown some simple and effective tools to be able to influence how you feel and act in various situations throughout your day. This can be achieved through meditation. How to start or enhance your meditation practice

There are many ways to approach meditation and I have found that one of the best ways to explore the practice and find what works best for you is through guided meditations.

We created our MindSpanse guided meditations based on our own lifelong experiences, our extensive research and practice with a variety of modalities of self-administered and guided meditations. Below is a guided meditation we created to help you explore some meditation concepts and benefits in the form of a relaxing, sleep inducing learning experience.

I would encourage you to explore the many guided meditations on YouTube, find what you like and enjoy your healing and helpful journey one step at a time.

I wish you a most amazing day!
